The food is vastly overpriced for what it is and not in line with the quality of the hotel. For me the pillows were a highlight as I find most Japanese hotels so have horrible pillows. Beds are quite hard with I liked but some won’t. Rooms were quite large with hot spring water in the bathroom. Can be quite a walk to the onsen depending on what part of the hotel you stay in. It was wonderful watching the sun rise while sitting in the onsen. The onsen is great with views into the mountains. It’s design was to be a western hotel with a Japanese feel and it has definitely achieved that. Very old homely feeling to it with high ceilings. Although the price is high, it seems that all of them are handmade and use a lot of physical strength to make soba noodles, so it can't be helped. I may have been able to go about two more. One piece wasn't enough and I ate a total of five pieces. The soba soup stock is soup stock, and the flavorful soba noodles are excellent for eating. I ordered two kinds of soba noodles, which are the most important soba noodles, because they are cold and soba noodles in the countryside. The building may have been a renovation of a recreational facility, a villa, or something like an old folk house. There is a parking lot in front of the store, but since the number is small, it may be the first to win. I went to Takeyabu-san, who had been anxious for a long time. (Translated by Google) I went to another soba shop on Lake Ashi, but it was temporarily closed. The price was alright and the portion was big. Service was excellent and our party was asked which language menu we needed. A cup of hot hojicha was served as well to wash it all down. The red bean was soft and was a little sweet which went well with either choice. There's no meat at all but it feels like you had the whole course from vegetables to fish and to meat as each tasted differently while focusing on the natural taste of tofu products.ĭesserts were a small little plum pickle, choice of either soy skin or tofu with boiled red beans. The main comes with a room temperature soy skin with wasabi, cold tofu with grated bitter ginger and spring onions, hot tofu skin clay pot soup cooked with dashi, mushroom and coriander and lastly, pickles and rice. The course starts with a single ice cubed unsweetened soy milk for you to taste the soy they use before any stronger item. Ordered the set meal which was exceptionally well thought out. This is definitely a must eat when you are in Hakone. The only thing that could have improved my stay was if the hotel offered some sort of shuttle service, even if it was at an extra charge. There are two beautiful onsen on sites, canoes, a nice outdoor area, bar and two restaurants. □ Overall, I think this hotel is good value for money. Everyone was well presented, and I appreciate that there was a consistent level of English. □♀️ The staff were all very kind during my visit. I think the more "secluded" location is heavily made up for in its stunning views, quietness, and comfortability. If you're happy to catch the bus for a few minutes or to walk 20 mins, then you'll find many great food options and a convenience store. The few that are there are either closed multiple days a week or have early closing times. There are not many stores or places to eat within close proximity. □ Location wise, it is a bit out of the way. I especially enjoyed the extra touches like the pod machine and comfortable slippers. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the bath was huge. □ My room was spacious, nicely furnished, and had an unreal view of the lake and Mt Fuji. I am really happy with my stay and would return to this hotel again given the chance □
